Meet one of our Lead Planners, Katie Gallo! She has been with An Enlightened Event for 2 seasons and has been such an asset to our company and to the clients that we work closely with.
What is your greatest achievement and how did it shape you?
My greatest achievement is being a mom. My daughters are my absolute loves of my life and I enjoy working hard to ensure they never have any needs in life. I enjoy spending time with them, volunteering for their extracurricular activities and raising them to be thoughtful and caring.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I have been wanting to go to Australia for quite some time now. I love traveling to relaxing destinations located on the water with warm weather.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and how would you use it?
If I could have one super power it would be to cure disease. There are so many wonderful people fighting the good fight to live a healthy life. I would love to be able to take away their pain.
How did you get involved in event planning?
I love everything to be color coded, alphabetized and put into chronological order so the organizational part of event planning came very easy. After planning a few parties and weddings for family and friends, I then fell in love with the event design aspect and being able to choose design elements to fulfill the vision a client has for their event.
What three things are a MUST HAVE at each of your events?
1. Great beverages – whether it is a signature cocktail with a clever name or even just infusing water with fruit like strawberries, oranges or limes. Putting in a little extra effort in the details goes a long way in showing guests your appreciation for them coming to your event.
2. Lighting for evening or indoor events – Uplighting or twinkle lights can transform a venue space and enhance your vision for the feel of an event. They also allow for amazing photo opportunities; especially with a professional photographer.
3. Creative signage – Whether it is using an antiqued door for escort cards, using vacation destinations as table names or hanging homemade Mr. and Mrs. signs from the bride and groom’s chairs it allows you to personalize your event in an inexpensive way.
