My love and I are huge foodies, pretty much to a fault. We eat out almost every day we are home together (3-4 days a week). When our big day comes food will be a huge part of it. Finding new ways to serve food and wine has become the “it” thing at weddings and the newest trend is serving comfort foods at fancy events. People are no longer just serving chicken or beef. Right now I can’t stop drooling over the cuteness of mini foods. There is nothing better than walking around the reception site with your hosted beverage in hand and picking up all the goodies being passed on silver trays. The worst is when the foods are too large and take up a huge plate and you can’t eat, hold the plate, hold your drink and show off your new dress while mingling. So here are a few of our favorite comfort foods made mini. I want to mix up the flavors and types of food so that you can get all your major food groups through out your evening; cheese, meat, chocolate, fruit, beer and carbs. Oh, and of course we are the couple that is up for partying all night long so a little late night food truck for munching is perfect!
Some of these pictures require an explanation, so… you have caprese pops, meatballs with spaghetti twirled on top, bread bites with the spinach artichoke dip baked inside, donut holes served on swizzle sticks in a cup of coffee, grilled cheese and cheeseburger sliders, 7 layer dip shots, and personal cocolate fondue cups with fruit. Are you drooling yet?
Just to prove my point further...here is a snippet of the delicious comfort foods the Four Seasons Westlake served at last months #LuxeBride Tweet Up. Who would have thought this schnazzy hotel would be serving up such down home foods. Here you will see the fun melon balls on a stick, pigs in a blanket, sliders and my favorite, donut holes with shots of milk. The pictures I didn't capture were the tatter tots and potato skins. It was very yummy!
